Compliance Summary The Facts About Rynex-3 Formulation Toxicology and Eco-toxicity Based on laboratory studies, Propylene Glycol Ethers do not cause the type of toxicological effects that are associated with exposure to some ethylene glycol ethers. These studies include the effects of oral administration, inhalation, dermal administration, skin irritation, eye irritation, skin sensitization, sub-acute toxicity, mutagenic carcinogenic and other tests. Di propylene ethers are not persistent or bio accumulative and are of extremely low toxicity to aquatic animals. Complete descriptions of the studies are available upon request Biodegradation

Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) tests in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey have shown that the waste generated from Rynex is non-hazardous.
Note: Under the so-called “mixture” and “contained-in” provisions of 40 CFR 261.3(b)(2), if spotting agents with 10% or more of a listed waste (such as Trichloroethylene or Perchloroethylene are added to Rynex, the entire mixture becomes hazardous.)

• Safe Drinking Water Act: Not Regulated
• California Proposition 65: Not Regulated
• Rynex contains no Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS)
• No special permits are required
• In many states, may qualify as alternative technology for funding or tax breaks.
Cleaning Features
• Cleans a wide range of garment fabrics
• Safe for most beads, sequins, buttons, trimmings and vinyl
• Removes most water-soluble stains
• Able to breakdown fatty acids and suspend soils
• Reduces static electricity
• Imparts a soft hand to garments
Cost & Production Benefits
• Lower labor costs because of less time on the spotting board
and fewer re-cleans after inspection
• Much lower disposal costs (non-hazardous disposal)
Solvent mileage: 2500 lbs/gallon or higher
• Users report major savings in their cleaning operations
• Reduced pre and post spotting costs
• No franchise, license or affiliation fees
Independent Evaluation
• “Proplylene Glycol Ether solvents are relatively new and were designed to be a less toxic alternative to ethylene glycol types.”

• “In Germany, we do not have a problem with Rynex: Glycol Ethers are known to be safe for both health and environment.”
Dr. Jurgen Tagge, Hohenstein Institute
• “Propylene Glycol Ethers do not have the negative environmental effects of some existing technologies.”
Bill Nelson, IL Waste Management and Research Division, Department of Natural Resources
• Cycle time 55-65 minutes
• Load classification similar to perc
• No shrinkage
• Cleans as good as or better than perc or other alternatives.
Proven by IFI and other independent cleaning performance tests
